In a 5-year period, roughly 270 million pounds of toxic waste was sent to fertilizer companies. Now, what could they possibly be doing with that much waste? They resell it. Since synthetic fertilizers contain so many chemicals and waste it can actually do more harm to the soil because it offsets the natural balance. You can tell if your soil is unhealthy if you’re noticing a lot of weeds throughout your garden so make sure you’re using a testing kit to help gauge how much fertilizer you really need.
