Saturday we celebrate the 8th year of National Get (your butt!) Outdoors Day. The idea is to encourage healthy active outdoor fun at different sites across the nation. On June 13th business participants will offer opportunities for American families to experience traditional and non-traditional types of outdoor activities. Ultimately they want to be reconnecting youth with the great outdoors.
Each GO Day offers activities areas where guests and children can learn to use a fishing pole, go geocaching, or help pitch tents. Smokey the Bear and Woodsy Owl (to name a few) also wander around to provide opportunities for pictures with the children. Many sites promote healthy eating by offering nutritious lunches as well.
Take a look at the locations here to see if you’re able to attend! http://www.nationalgetoutdoorsday.org/locations/
If you’re living in other parts of the world, go out and enjoy what your country has to offer! You can go on hikes, have a lake day, or explore the forest. Teach your children what you used to do when you were younger! 🙂
