The Rain Barrel!

This Toronto based rain barrel system may be a step in the right direction for the worlds water needs. And it looks so cute to boot!

The idea of this barrel is to collect and store rainwater that runs off the roof of homes. The water that is collected in this 208 litre barrel can then be used to wash cars, water lawns, or any other gardening needs.

Since water that comes from our faucets are used for drinking, in times of a drought or dry season you can use this barrel as a back up system for your other needs! Pretty nifty.
