New year, new you?

Tip Tuesday

New year new me, right? Now that it’s February maybe you have found yourself lagging on those goals you resolved to achieve at the beginning of the year.

Here are a few tips to help you keep those resolutions.

  1. Be realistic
When making a goal it’s always important to keep it within reason. Sure, shoot for the moon, and all that. But there’s nothing more discouraging than picking a goal that’s not achievable. Or better yet, I like to make small, easily attainable goals that are steps in achieving a bigger goal
  2. Make a plan
A plan of action is the key to success. By sitting down and writing out how you plan to achieve your goals, you’re reinforcing them in your mind.
  1. Talk about them
Sharing them with you friends makes most people feel more accountable.
  2. Track your progress
Write it down. Write it all down.
  1. Don’t beat yourself up. Keep trying!
There will be days when you won’t stick to your resolutions and there will be days that you excel at it. Don’t beat yourself up when you don’t. Just keep at it.

Big changes don’t happen overnight. Whether it’s achieving that beach bod, playing an instrument better or eating healthier, remember to take it one day at a time.
